Sailing Ship Columbia

The Sailing Ship Columbia is a five-eights scale replica of the original Columbia, which, in 1787, became the first ship ever to circumnavigate the Rivers of America. In 1964, the below-decks area of Disneyland's Columbia was opened, and in it can be found an exact replica of the living quarters used by the sailors on that historic afternoon.

The Columbia takes Disneyland guests on a ride that matches the original ship's course. During the ride, guests are treated to numerous interesting historical tidbits by the captain, and the ship's cannon is fired. Unfortunately, the cannon rarely hits anything.
