Casey Jr. Circus Train

July 1955

The Casey Jr. Circus Train covers much of the same land as the Storybook Land Canal Boats. There is a lively debate among Disneyland fans over whether this makes the rides redundant, and, if it does, which one should be eliminated. Of course, not everyone thinks the rides are largely identical. "It's not the same experience at all," said one long-time Casey Jr. rider. "You're riding in a little cage instead of in a little boat, there's music and the cute 'I think I can' thing as you go up a hill, and you see the buildings from a slightly different angle and several miles per hour faster. Frankly, I can hardly see any similarity."

Trivia: Casey Jr.'s father, Casey Senior, is the same Casey that is the subject of "Casey at the Bat."
